About us

Officially, we're The Holden Bush Allotments Society, but for ease we're informally known as Bude Allotments... as we are based just a few minutes outside Bude and serve the people of Bude and it's surrounding parishes.

We offer a patch of earth to make your own; to grow fruit, vegetables and flowers; a way to cut down on food miles and plastic, and a way to spend time in nature. You'll find a place to clear your head, stretch your legs, and share tips (or extra courgettes!) with plot neighbours. We believe everyone should have access to allotments, and we're open to anyone in the local area to join our waitlist and apply for an allotment with us.

It’s an exciting time for us, as we navigate the purchase of the allotments.

Currently, the allotments are privately owned and the land is up for sale. We are the only allotments in Bude open for anyone local to join the waitlist. We want to make sure the allotments are safe, so we have made a bid which has been accepted and now we're at the start of fundraising to complete the purchase as a society. By purchasing the land as the society and adding in an asset lock to our model rules, the land will be secured now and forever.

We're actively pursuing some smaller grants, but need to raise £15,000 as a minimum!

There'll be more news to follow on how you can make a donation if you would like to.
